Original abstract
DC–DC converters represent a promising area that has gained considerable attention because of their ability to properly integrate renewable energy resources like fuel cells and photovoltaic (PV) systems. This article introduces a unique, non-isolated, cubic voltage gain DC–DC converter with a compact design and improved efficiency. It uses two switches that function at the same time to connect the cascaded boost circuits via a quadratic cell. It also includes a capacitor-diode combo to improve the quadratic cell’s output. One another aspect is the use of common ground switches, which removes the need for additional gate-driver isolation components. The recommended model is supported by investigational results from a 380 V, 200W prototype converter. The results also show that the converter maintains an efficiency of 94% at rated load, while making better use of its constituent elements.
