Original abstract

This paper considers the effect of temperature and irradiance patterns on PV systems.Precisely, the paper particularly emphasizes on system loss modelling and analysis of collective environmental effects that are impactful on PV system performances.It aims to infer their conjoint effect on the photovoltaic systems' longterm performance and to create a dynamic control model to reduce the system losses.The research is conducted in two phases: Where the results of the first phase reveals regional disparities, for instance, the huge thermal losses in Rajasthan as compared to the much smaller losses in Northeast India.In the second phase, the simulation tool is developed in Python and uses physics and machine learning for performance assessment.It mimics I-V characteristics using a single diode model and considers factors such as soiling and shading.The machine learning techniques of Random Forest, XGBoost and Neural Networks are used to predict the photovoltaic output parameters and the performance metrics are evaluated under different conditions with sensitivity analysis and validation metrics to confirm the accuracy of the ML models for better comparisons in grid connected conditions.
