Original abstract
The purpose of this study is to use combination of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques to identify electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) locations in Antalya province. Nowadays, sustainable transportation infrastructure has gained great importance. Correct positioning of EVCS plays an important role in terms of efficient use of energy resources, increasing user satisfaction and balancing the social, environmental and economic dimensions of sustainability. In this study, the current status of electric vehicles (EV) in Turkey and the world, the rate of diffusion of EV technologies and sustainable transportation policies are presented within the scope of the literature. Spatial data obtained with the help of QGIS program, which is GIS software, provided guidance in determining potential station locations. The Best-Worst Method (BWM) was employed to calculate the criteria weights. Proposed model was solved by EDAS and fuzzy EDAS methods designed with the expert opinions at different uncertainty levels. The results contributed to determine Antalya province's best possible EVCS locations. In addition to offering useful insight on topics like urban and transportation planning, the study advances the sustainable growth of EV infrastructure in Antalya province and contributes literature by utilizing the fuzzy structure of the MCDM approach. Finally, the validity of the study is presented through sensitivity analysis.
