Original abstract
Abstract Photo-induced phase segregation in mixed-halide perovskites is commonly attributed to perovskite’s intrinsic ionic instability. Here, we demonstrate that segregation in inorganic CsPbI3−xBrx perovskite solar cells is governed by hole extraction dynamics rather than intrinsic instability. Carrier extraction modulation shows that electron extraction has a negligible influence, whereas efficient hole extraction suppresses phase segregation. Removing the hole transport layer restores segregation in otherwise identical films, indicating a hole-accumulation-driven origin. The comparison under different illumination conditions further supports that phase segregation is mitigated at a reduced carrier-generation level. These results establish phase segregation in CsPbI3−xBrx as a hole-extraction-limited dynamic process.
