Original abstract

The increasing global demand for energy has accelerated the transition toward renewable energy sources, one of which is the utilization of Solar Power Plants (Photovoltaic Systems/PV) integrated with Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations as a sustainable transportation solution. This study aims to analyze the effects of controller type, panel tilt and azimuth angles, series-parallel module configuration, and different types of solar panels on the performance of an off-grid photovoltaic system for EV charging. The research methodology consisted of a literature review, group discussions, and simulations using PVsyst software to model the system based on energy demand, solar panel type, battery capacity, and geographical conditions. The simulation results indicate that the selection of the controller significantly affects charging efficiency, while the optimal tilt and azimuth angles enhance solar radiation capture. In addition, the series-parallel module configuration determines the output voltage and current according to load requirements, and the type of solar panel influences conversion efficiency, with monocrystalline panels demonstrating the highest performance. The findings conclude that optimizing technical parameters through PVsyst simulations can improve the energy efficiency and reliability of small- to medium-scale EV charging stations, while also providing a technical foundation for the development of sustainable solar-powered EV charging infrastructure.
