Original abstract
This study analyzed energy self-sufficient ratio of a low-carbon energy-sharing residential community and the Zero Energy Building (ZEB) certification grade when Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) systems were applied. The energy self-sufficient ratio was evaluated by analyzing the annual electricity generation of the BIPV systems and the energy consumption for cooling, heating, hot water, lighting, and ventilation within the community. The energy generation of the BIPV was simulated using Solar Pro software. Six different cases were analyzed depending on the installation location within the community. The results showed that Case 1 produced 113,960.4 kWh of annual electricity and achieved an energy self-sufficient ratio of 75.8%, corresponding to ZEB certification Grade 3. Case 2 achieved a renewable energy penetration rate of 82.95%, corresponding to ZEB certification Grade 2, while Case 3 achieved a penetration rate of 102%, corresponding to ZEB certification Grade 1. Case 4 showed an energy self-sufficient ratio of 109.3%, satisfying the requirements for ZEB certification Grade 1. Case 5, which represents the community center, also satisfied ZEB certification Grade 1. Finally, Case 6, representing the entire energy-sharing residential community, achieved an energy self-sufficient ratio of 120.5%, corresponding to ZEB certification Grade 1.
