Original abstract

This paper synthesizes recent scholarly work from 2020 to 2026 examining the intersection of solar photovoltaic technology, computer numerical control machining, and sustainable manufacturing within the context of Afghanistan and comparable developing economies.Afghanistan possesses exceptional solar energy potential estimated at 222,849 MW, yet faces persistent energy deficits that constrain industrial development and economic growth.The integration of solar power with CNC machining operations represents a promising pathway toward sustainable manufacturing in resource -constrained environments, offering reduced operational costs, enhanced energy independence, and decreased carbon emissions.However, significant barriers impede widespread adoption, including high capital investment requirements, limited government support and subsidies, inadequate technical expertise, infrastructural deficiencies, and institutional challenges such as systematic corruption and fragmented policy frameworks.This review identifies opportunities for advancing solar -powered CNC machining through targeted policy interventions, capacity building initiatives, innovative financing mechanisms, and technology transfer programs adapted to Afghanistan's unique socioeconomic and security context.The synthesis of 60 peer -reviewed studies reveals that while technical feasibility has been demonstrated in various industrial applications globally, successful implementation in Afghanistan requires context-sensitive strategies that address the interplay of economic, technical, institutional, and social factors shaping renewable energy adoption in conflict-affected developing nations.
