Original abstract
The global transition toward renewable energy faces a fundamental thermodynamic ceil-ing imposed by the Shockley–Queisser limit of conventional charge-based photovoltaics. This comprehensive analysis examines spintronic photovoltaics as a paradigm-shifting framework that exploits the intrinsic spin degree of freedom of charge carriers to transcend these limita-tions. By harnessing mechanisms such as singlet fission with engineered spin-flip emitters— demonstrating validated quantum efficiencies of approximately 130%—chiral-induced spinselectivity for recombination suppression, and the circular photogalvanic effect arising fromRashba splitting, the field offers elegant quantum mechanical pathways to higher efficiency. Advanced material platforms, including magnetic tunnel junction molecular spintronic de-vices, chiral hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites exhibiting 35 meV Rashba splitting, and zero-net-magnetization altermagnets with colossal spin injection currents, are rigorously evaluated. The integration of these empirical advances with the Unified Harmonic Ontol-ogy provides a novel topological foundation for toroidal spintronics, proposing dissipation-free, phase-coherent energy conversion architectures protected by spectral gaps associated with Riemann zeros. Strategic implications for Florida’s institutional research corridors,transition-metal-based supply chain resilience, and practical tandem-layer integration are analyzed in depth. The work positions spintronic photovoltaics as the foundational hard-ware for 21st-century zero-dissipation optoelectronics and autonomous energy-harvesting logic systems.
