Original abstract
Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are gaining increasing attention as a promising solution for renewable energy production and waste heat recovery. This study presents the design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of a novel thermoelectric solar generator that integrates 30 TEG modules with standard evacuated glass tubes for solar heating and a chimney-type wind-assisted passive cooling mechanism. The proposed system operates entirely without external energy input, relying on natural thermal gradients to produce electricity. Experimental results showed that the generator can achieve up to 70 V open-circuit voltage and a peak electrical power output of 23 W under moderate solar irradiance. The overall energy conversion efficiency was calculated to be 8.28%, demonstrating the viability of thermoelectric-only systems as an alternative to conventional photovoltaic or hybrid PV-TEG configurations. The system's scalability, autonomy, and dual potential for heat and power generation suggest strong applicability in off-grid and remote energy solutions.
